Screening and Dialogue: “For the Bible Tells Me So”

Allied4th invites the congregation and its friends to a showing of the 2007 documentary, “For the Bible Tells Me So,” on Tuesday, January 31st, 6:00-8:30pm, in Fellowship Hall. A light supper will be offered to be eaten as we watch. The movie is the story of five devout American Christian families – including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson—as they journey towards accepting an LGBTQ+ family member.  The movie portrays these families’ struggles as they try to reconcile what they’ve been taught at church with their love of their relatives. Theologians such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Dr. Richard Mouw, Rev. Peter Gomes, and Rev.
